Slough Man Kenneth Romney Jailed for Assault and Strangulation

Kenneth Romney, 53, from Myrtle Crescent, Slough, has been sentenced to three years behind bars at Reading Crown Court. He has also been slapped with restraining orders protecting his two victims.

Pleading Guilty to Multiple Charges

At his hearing on 31 January, Romney admitted to assault causing actual bodily harm, intentional strangulation, and criminal damage. Earlier, on 19 October last year, he pleaded guilty to assault causing actual bodily harm and further criminal damage.

Acquitted of Rape Charge

Romney was acquitted by a unanimous jury verdict on a separate rape charge. Despite this, the court dealt firmly with the other offences.

Additional Sexual Assault Charge to Lie on File

Another charge of sexual assault against Romney is set to lie on file, meaning it won’t be proceeded with at this time.
