Man Re-Bailed Over Valentine’s Day Murder of Gary Stacey

20-Year-Old Re-Bailed in Murder Probe

Police have re-bailed a 20-year-old man in connection with the murder of Gary Stacey. The victim was assaulted on Valentine’s Day in St James’ Street, Newport, before dying in hospital.

Enquiry Continues as Two Others Released

The suspect appeared at Newport Police Station this morning and has now been bailed until 1st June 2016 while investigations continue. Two other men, aged 20 and 21, who were previously arrested, have been released without charge.

Police Appeal for Witnesses

A police spokeswoman said: “We are continuing our investigation into the death of Gary Stacey, who was assaulted in St James’ Street, Newport, at 4am on Sunday 14th February.”
