Predator Locked Up for 18 Years After Targeting Teen Girls on London Buses
A notorious sex offender has finally been brought to justice. Silvestar Toshev, 27, of no fixed address, has been slammed with an 18-year prison sentence for two chilling rapes. The Metropolitan Police’s relentless probe uncovered the shocking attacks that traumatised two teenage girls in south-west London.
Grim Crimes Exposed at Kingston Crown Court
Toshev’s trial exposed horrifying details of his vile offences. On 19 January 2023, he snatched a 16-year-old girl from a bus in Morden, raping her in a remote spot near Stonecot Hill. CCTV footage was the crucial evidence that nailed Toshev.
But that wasn’t all. Detectives uncovered a second attack dating back to 21 September 2021. This time, Toshev targeted a 17-year-old waiting near a bus stop in Claremont Gardens, Surbiton, before dragging her to a secluded area and assaulting her. DNA evidence sealed his fate.
Police Praise Victims’ Courage
“This man is a dangerous predator who targeted teenage girls in public,” said Detective Sergeant Andy Walker of the south-west London policing team. “I am pleased our investigation has resulted in a substantial custodial sentence.”
DS Walker also praised the victims for their bravery under incredible pressure. “I hope this verdict brings them some closure to help heal the trauma they’ve endured,” he added.
Toshev’s lengthy sentence sends a powerful message to predators lurking in our communities: justice will catch you, no matter what.
