Six Held and Gun Seized in Dramatic Birmingham Dawn Raid
Six suspects were arrested and a firearm seized following a high-octane police raid in Birmingham at dawn today (Tuesday, 2 October). West Midlands Police stormed a property in Shepherds Gardens, Edgbaston, at around 5am to apprehend a man linked to a firearms offence.

Officers forced entry in a pre-planned operation, arresting four men aged 21, 35, 45, and 52, plus two women aged 59 and 64 – all Birmingham locals. A firearm recovered at the scene is now being examined for forensic evidence.
Man Shot by Police Taken to Hospital
During the raid, a man at the address was shot by armed officers. He was rushed to hospital with an arm injury, which police say is not life-threatening. The incident is under investigation and referred to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC).
Ongoing Investigation Unrelated to Tory Conference
All six remain in custody on suspicion of firearms offences. Police confirm the arrests have no connection to the Conservative Party Conference currently underway in Birmingham.
