Victim Attacked After Confronting Youths on Neighbour’s Car
On 27 October 2023, a man in his 30s was stabbed in the groin after asking a group of youngsters to get off a neighbour’s car on Springfield Road.
Sharp Object Used in Brutal Assault
Reports say one of the youths pulled out a sharp item – described as a bike spoke – and plunged it into the victim’s groin. The victim suffered multiple puncture wounds and serious injuries, needing urgent hospital treatment.
Suspect Arrested and Charged Months Later
A suspect was caught the same day but later bailed while police gathered evidence. Then, on 24 June 2024, a 15-year-old from Newham, East London, was charged with causing grievous bodily harm. He is bailed with conditions and must appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court on 6 August.
