Met Police Officer Sacked Over Racist Abuse and Assault

A Metropolitan Police officer has been dismissed with immediate effect after being found guilty of racial abuse and assaulting a colleague.

PC Shaun Davies Fired Without Warning

PC Shaun Davies, who served at the Central North Command Unit, was kicked out without notice following a misconduct hearing that wrapped up on Thursday, February 13.

The hearing revealed Davies had:

  • Made racially offensive and discriminatory remarks to a fellow officer.
  • Pulled a female officer’s hair without consent.
  • Made a racially prejudiced gesture towards another officer in a separate incident.

These incidents took place between December 2009 and June 2010.

Top Brass Condemn Racist Behaviour

Chief Superintendent Andrew Carter, who leads the Central North Command Unit, slammed Davies’ actions:

“The behaviour displayed by PC Shaun Davies is wholly unacceptable. We are committed to ensuring that actions do have consequences, and anyone who displays such views is not fit to serve in our organisation. It’s right that he has been dismissed with immediate effect.”

Barred from Policing for Life

PC Davies was found to have breached the Standards of Professional Behaviour regarding equality and diversity. As a result, he has been placed on the College of Policing’s barred list.

This blacklist means Davies cannot be employed by:

  • Any police force in the UK
  • Local policing bodies such as Police and Crime Commissioners (PCCs)
  • The Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC)
  • His Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire & Rescue Services

The Met continues to crackdown on officers guilty of misconduct, reinforcing a strict zero-tolerance stance against racism and discrimination within the force.
