Two Met Cops Sacked Over Racist and Misogynistic Abuse

Two serving Metropolitan Police officers have been fired without warning after a disciplinary panel found they repeatedly made racist, homophobic, misogynistic, and sexualised remarks to colleagues while on duty.

Gross Misconduct Uncovered in Lengthy Hearing

PC Ben Jeffries and PC Wayne Samson, both from the North West Command Unit, were found guilty of gross misconduct following a nine-day disciplinary hearing.

The panel heard evidence that:

  • The pair made offensive comments as far back as 2020.
  • In August 2021, PC Jeffries sent an unsolicited image of his genitals to a colleague.
  • In November 2021, PC Samson carried out an offensive physical act towards a colleague.

The officers breached professional standards in areas including discreditable conduct, authority, respect and courtesy, as well as equality and diversity.

Met Boss Condemns Behaviour as “Disgusting and Inexcusable”

Detective Chief Superintendent Luke Williams, Borough Commander for North West Command, slammed the officers’ conduct:

“The actions and comments made by both PC Jeffries and PC Samson were disgusting, wholly inappropriate and fell far below the standards expected of Met police officers. It is right they have been dismissed. I would encourage our staff to continue to report any wrongdoing so that we can take action.”

Permanent Ban from Police Work

Both officers will be added to the College of Policing’s Barred List. This means they are permanently banned from working in:

  • Any UK police force
  • Local policing bodies
  • The Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC)
  • His Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire and Rescue Services (HMICFRS)

Part of Wider Crackdown on Met Misconduct

This case adds to a growing list of disciplinary actions targeting misconduct within the Met. The force is under intense pressure to rebuild public trust and overhaul its internal culture following a series of high-profile scandals.
