Officer Faces Court Over Allegations

Detective Constable Asiri Hamidi, 34, from the Metropolitan Police’s South Area Command Unit, has been charged with coercive and controlling behaviour. The officer is due to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, 5 March.

Hamidi was officially charged on Friday, 31 January, following allegations made to police in April 2022.

Off-Duty Misconduct Sparks Charges

The offence is said to have occurred while DC Hamidi was off duty, police sources confirm. Following the charge, he has been suspended pending further inquiry.

Investigation Ongoing, Police Seek Witnesses

The Met Police are tight-lipped about details but confirmed a full investigation is underway. Authorities have called on anyone with information to come forward and assist with the case.
