Symons, 48, assigned to West Area Command Unit, was formally charged on 23 December 2024. He faces assault by penetration and five counts of sexual assault by touching, allegedly committed between 2012 and 2018 against one male victim.

On top of that, Symons is charged with five more sexual assault counts by touching from 2009 to 2021. These include offences against another man and a woman—all reportedly people known to him during his time on duty.

Court Date Set Amid Growing Outrage

Symons is due to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 27 January 2025. The revelations have sent shockwaves through the Met and the public, raising serious questions about police conduct and trust.

“The alleged offences are extremely serious and will be dealt with through the criminal justice system. PS Symons has been suspended since December 2022, and we are fully cooperating with the ongoing legal process,” a Metropolitan Police spokesperson said.
