Tragic Stabbing Rocks East London: Mother-of-One Charlotte Lawlor Murdered
Heartbreak in Tower Hamlets as 31-year-old Charlotte Lawlor, a devoted mum, was fatally stabbed at a party last month. Found with multiple stab wounds in the foyer of a tower block on Duckett Street just before 2am on September 15, Charlotte leaves behind an 11-year-old son.
Family Mourns ‘Amazing’ Woman Taken Too Soon
Tributes are flooding in for Charlotte, describing her as a woman of “drive, determination and a really big heart.” Her cousin, Jessie McBride, who set up a GoFundMe to support Charlotte’s young son, said the family is devastated.

Charlotte’s funeral is set for October 25 at Finchley Crematorium, 2pm.
Hope Rowe Charged With Murder
The Met confirmed a 32-year-old woman, Hope Rowe from Whitechapel, has been charged with Charlotte’s murder and possession of a bladed weapon. She appeared at the Old Bailey on September 18 and was remanded in custody.
A plea and trial prep hearing is scheduled for December 2, with a trial date pencilled in for June 9 next year.
Police say the people involved were known to each other and no one else is being sought in connection with the stabbing.
Police and Community Respond
Police and emergency crews rushed to the Duckett Street block after reports of the stabbing came in the early hours of September 15. Despite efforts, Charlotte was pronounced dead at the scene.
Acting Detective Chief Inspector Ben Dalloway said: “This tragic incident has led to a young woman losing her life. We have made significant progress with arrests and are not looking for anyone else.”
Det. Supt. Mike Cagney added: “My thoughts are with Charlotte’s family during this difficult time. Officers are working closely to understand exactly what happened.”
Local officers remain visible in the area to reassure residents and gather any further information.
