Knife Rampage at HMP Bristol: Prisoner Attacks Staff with Weapons
Chaos erupted at HMP Bristol today as a violent prisoner stabbed and slashed multiple staff members during a brutal attack. The inmate, currently on trial for serious assaults at HMP Long Lartin and HMP Hewell, had been kept on the wing despite staff fears.
Ignored Warnings Spark Violence
There were earlier threats to kill officers, prompting calls for the prisoner to be placed in segregation and for staff to wear PPE. But the governor decided PPE wasn’t necessary since the inmate hadn’t yet acted violently while at HMP Bristol.
When officers tried to move him to segregation, the prisoner grabbed two weapons and launched a savage rampage, leaving several staff with deep puncture wounds and slash injuries.
One Officer Left Unconscious and Dragged Toward Death
One staff member was knocked unconscious as the attacker tried to drag him away to kill him. All injured officers have been rushed to hospital for treatment.
