Tragic Death of Toddler Alfie Lamb Under Suspicious Circumstances in Croydon
Detectives from the Homicide and Major Crime Command are probing the suspicious death of three-year-old Alfie Lamb in Croydon. Police were called to Adams Way at 7.29pm on 1 February 2018 after the London Ambulance Service reported an unresponsive child.
Heartbreaking Emergency Response
At the scene, Alfie was found in cardiac arrest. He was rushed to a central London hospital but tragically was pronounced dead on 4 February.
Investigation and Arrests
The little boy’s death is being treated as suspicious following a post-mortem that began on 7 February at St Thomas’ Hospital. Three people were arrested on 28 February in connection with the case: a 23-year-old woman, an 18-year-old woman, and a 25-year-old man.
Charges were made on 27 May and 30 May:
- The 23-year-old woman faces charges of ill-treatment of a child under the Children and Young Persons Act 1933 and perverting the course of justice.
- The 18-year-old woman has been charged with perverting the course of justice.
- The 25-year-old man was charged by postal requisition with perverting the course of justice.
