Murder Probe Underway After Woman Stabbed to Death in Battersea
A woman was stabbed to death this afternoon in Battersea, sparking a major murder investigation.
Woman Dies at Scene in Grayshott Road Attack
Police were called at 12:38pm on Wednesday, 15 August to a stabbing/" title="Stabbing" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">stabbing at a residential address on Grayshott Road, SW11. Despite swift response from London Ambulance Service and the London Air Ambulance, the woman – believed to be in her 30s – was pronounced dead at the scene just over an hour later, at 1:41pm.
Man Arrested on Suspicion of Murder
A 40-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder. The Met Police’s Homicide and Major Crime Command have taken over the investigation.
Police Appeal for Information
A crime scene remains cordoned off while formal identification and a post-mortem examination are pending. Police say they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the killing.
A Met Police spokesperson said: “Officers attended with the Ambulance Service after a stabbing was reported. The victim was found with a stab injury and later pronounced dead. Enquiries are ongoing.”
