Major Drugs Bust: Nine Arrested in Nationwide Raid
Detectives from the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate have smashed a major drugs ring involved in the national distribution of class A substances. The alleged crimes took place between March 2020 and December 2021.
Early Morning Raids Across the UK
On Wednesday 18 October 2023, police executed coordinated early morning raids at properties in Margate, Orpington, Sunderland, and Stockton-on-Tees. The searches were backed by forces from across the country.
Nine Arrested, Luxury Goods Seized
Officers arrested nine individuals on suspicion of money laundering and conspiracy to supply and import class A drugs. During the raids, police seized cash, mobile phones, vehicles, and high-end items including Rolex watches.
Who Got Cuffed?
- A 31-year-old man at a Berrylands, Orpington address
- A 36-year-old man at Westbrook Avenue, Margate
- A 49-year-old man at Ravenna Road, Sunderland
- A 41-year-old man at Meadow Court, Stockton-on-Tees
- A 40-year-old woman at 1 Gardens, Orpington
Additionally, four men aged 33, 30, and 35 were also arrested and questioned. These suspects are currently in prison serving sentences for unrelated crimes.
All nine suspects remain in custody as investigations continue.
