Two Men Charged with Murder of John Avers in Dagenham

Detectives have charged Bobby Ternent, 31, and Gary Ternent, 58, both from Movers Lane, Barking, with the murder of 47-year-old John Avers. The pair are set to appear in custody this morning at Barkingside Magistrates’ Court.

John’s family have been informed of the tragic news.

Victim Found Dead After Car-Pedestrian Collision

Police were called to a car park on Whalebone Lane South at 11.43pm on Sunday, 13 September, following reports of a collision between a car and a pedestrian. Paramedics and officers arrived to find John seriously injured. Sadly, he died at the scene shortly afterwards.

Two Women Released but Investigation Continues

Two women initially arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender have now been released under investigation as inquiries continue.

Police Appeal for Witnesses

A post-mortem confirmed John died from multiple injuries. Police urge anyone who saw the incident or has information to call 101 quoting CAD 8443/13Sep. Alternatively, contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
