Man Charged After Major Drug Bust in Hoo
A man has been slapped with drug charges following a police crackdown in Hoo.
Police Raid Leads to Arrest
Medway’s Community Policing Team swooped on a property in Maple Road, Strood, early on Tuesday, January 17, 2023. They arrested a 19-year-old man on suspicion of drug offences during the raid.
The officers seized four mobile phones, 37 bags of cannabis, and drug paraphernalia at the scene.
Ongoing Crackdown on Drug Dealing
This was the third warrant executed since September 2022 following reports of drug dealing in Hoo. So far, police have arrested four men and one woman linked to the investigation. All suspects remain released under investigation while inquiries continue.
In total, officers have recovered drugs worth over £87,000, including cannabis, ecstasy tablets, and prescription pills like Viagra and Diazepam. They also seized more than £4,500 in cash.
Charged and Remanded
Tyreece St Pier, 19, from Maple Road, Strood, has been charged with possessing cannabis with intent to supply. He appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court on January 18 and was remanded to appear at Maidstone Crown Court on February 15, 2023.
