Dog Attack at Hengistbury Head: Woman Bitten After Man’s Spaniels Go Rogue
A woman in her 50s was bitten after a terrifying dog attack at Hengistbury Head on Tuesday afternoon, August 10, 2021.
Spaniels Let Off Lead Turn Aggressive
Around 4.15pm, the woman was walking her elderly dog in a field when a man with two spaniel-type dogs passed by. The dogs were initially on a lead but once unleashed, they charged at her dog aggressively.
The woman tried to intervene but was bitten on the hand, leaving a painful puncture wound. The man quickly got his dogs back on the lead but refused to share his details.
Police Hunt Silver Transit Van Driver
Witnesses later saw the man get into a silver Transit van. Dorset Police are now on the case, urging anyone who recognises the man or knows his identity to come forward.
“We are carrying out enquiries and have obtained an image of the dog owner with his animals,” said Police Constable Jennie Sykes-Martin. “I would urge anyone who recognises him to please come forward. I also urge the man to do the right thing and come forward so we can take your account.”
