Openreach Engineer Stabbed Over 5G Myth in Kilburn

An Openreach engineer was brutally stabbed after being mistaken for a 5G installer in Kilburn. The attack has left him with life-changing injuries.

Late-Night Attack on Quex Road

Police were called to Quex Road, NW6, just before 1am on Monday, 6 April, following reports of a stabbing. Officers found a man in his 40s suffering multiple stab wounds. He was rushed to a London hospital by ambulance and has since been discharged.

Suspect Arrested and Charged

Later that day, 24-year-old Mahad Mahamaud, of no fixed address, was arrested. On Tuesday, 7 April, he was charged with Section 18 Grievous Bodily Harm with intent.

Mahamaud is set to appear in custody at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, 8 April.
