Motorcycle Crash on King Georges Road Sparks Urgent Police Response
The horror unfolded just after 7pm on Sunday, September 24, when the elderly man was struck on King Georges Road. Police say the collision involved a motorcycle. Officers rushed to the scene and administered first aid before paramedics whisked the victim to hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
Teen Arrested at Hospital as Police Hunt Second Rider
Police arrested a 17-year-old male at a hospital later the same night, suspecting his involvement in the hit-and-run. The teenager is currently receiving treatment in hospital. Meanwhile, detectives believe the motorcycle carried two riders and are urgently looking for the second individual to come forward.
“We believe the motorcycle may have had two people onboard at the time of the collision and therefore would publicly appeal for the second person to make themselves known to us. Enquiries to identify them continue in the meantime,” confirmed Temporary Inspector Sarah Knight.
Police Appeal for Witnesses and Dash Cam Footage
Officers are combing through CCTV and conducting house-to-house inquiries as part of the investigation. They specifically want to trace two potential witnesses who were near the scene in a white 4×4 around the time of the crash. While not involved directly, their information could be crucial.
