Police appeal for publics help after Wapping Stabbing

Police are appealing for witnesses and information after a man was left with potentially life changing injuries after being attacked in Wapping. At approximately 22:30hrs on Saturday, 28 April the victim, a 29-year-old man, was standing in Green Bank, E1 having a cigarette when he was approached by three males riding bicycles. Without provocation, the man was attacked and stabbed, causing a deep cut to his leg. London Ambulance Service attended and the victim was taken to hospital for treatment. It was established that the stab injury had damaged his femoral artery and he remains in hospital recovering from the attack. CCTV stills showing the three cyclists has been released as police continue to investigate the attack. Also shown is a man walking down Green Bank pulling a wheeled bag behind him; he may have seen the three suspects or witnessed the attack. Detective Constable Ian Arrowsmith leads the investigation and said: “Although these CCTV stills are not great in quality, they may jog someone’s memory about the events of that evening. I am particularly keen to trace the man seen wheeling a bag behind him – he may hold vital information that could help us trace those responsible for this vicious attack.” Officers from Tower Hamlets investigate and ask anyone with information to call police on 101 quoting ref: CAD 8473/28Apr.
