Man Arrested After Stabbing in Bexhill
A 24-year-old man has been charged following a serious stabbing on London Road, Bexhill, police confirm. The attack happened just before midnight on Friday, February 24.
Victim Hospitalised but Now Recovering
The victim was rushed to hospital with stab wounds but has since been discharged and is recovering at home. Police launched an immediate investigation that quickly led to the arrest of Connor Hyland-Whiting from West View, Hastings.
Multiple Charges Laid Against Connor Hyland-Whiting
Hyland-Whiting faces charges including wounding with intent and possession of an offensive weapon linked to the Bexhill stabbing. He also faces seven additional charges from three separate incidents, such as:
- Attempted wounding with intent
- Possession of a knife or sharp article in public
- Affray
- Assault causing actual bodily harm
Police Crack Down on Knife Crime
Arrested on March 3, Hyland-Whiting is in custody and will appear at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on March 6. PC Chris Diamond of Hastings CID said:
“Tackling knife crime and serious violence is a top priority for us. We understand the devastation this causes victims and the community.”
He thanked locals for their support and urged anyone with information to come forward.
