Police swooped on County Road in Walton Saturday night following a violent disturbance involving multiple people. Officers were alerted to a planned trouble near a local mosque, sparking a major response.

Chaos on County Road

Just after 9pm, youths and others hurled objects at police vehicles. A wheelie bin was set ablaze but quickly doused by Merseyside Fire & Rescue crews. To protect residents and local businesses, police shut down a section of County Road as they took control.

Section 60 Imposed Across Liverpool

In a bid to curb further violence, a Section 60 order was slapped on Liverpool, letting cops stop and search anyone suspected of carrying weapons or plotting crimes. The order stays until 8:40pm Sunday.

Police Chief Hits Out at Disorder

Assistant Chief Constable Alex Goss blasted the troublemakers: “These violent individuals do not represent Merseyside. They dishonour the memory of the three young girls tragically lost earlier this week.

“Instead, they attacked our officers, causing serious injuries. They have terrorised residential streets, targeted local businesses, and damaged property. This behaviour is disgraceful and won’t be tolerated.

“Many involved were youths – parents, please know where your children are to keep them safe.

“If you have any information or know who’s behind this, contact us immediately. We’re determined to bring those responsible to justice.”
