Man Dies After Morning Assault in Lesney Gardens
Police were called to Lesney Gardens shortly after 8.30am on 25 November following reports of a serious assault. On arrival, officers found a man critically injured. Despite emergency crews’ best efforts, the victim sadly died at the scene.
Murder Investigation Underway
Essex and Kent Serious Crime Directorate quickly launched a probe into the circumstances surrounding the death. A 38-year-old man from Rochford has been charged with murder and remains in custody.
Detective Chief Inspector Louise Metcalfe said: “We understand that this is a concerning incident for residents, but please be assured we are working swiftly to find out what happened. We have arrested a man believed to be known to the victim, and he remains in custody. Locals may notice increased police presence over the coming days as enquiries continue.”
