Woman Jailed for Terrifying Arson Attack on Family Home
Talisa Windsor, 30, from Amberley Drive in Hove, has been locked up for six years after a terrifying arson attempt nearly ended in tragedy.
Petrol Theft and Fiery Attack
On 11th May 2021, Windsor stole 3.7 litres of petrol from a local station. Just hours later, at 6.35pm, she turned up at a home in Moyne Close, doused the property in fuel, and tried to set it alight.
Luckily, the residents—known to Windsor—escaped unharmed. Passersby quickly alerted the police, leading to her swift arrest.
Threatening Messages Preceded Attack
It emerged that Windsor had sent threatening messages to the family in the days before the attack, signalling a chilling premeditation.
Judge Labels Windsor a Dangerous Offender
At Chichester Crown Court on Friday 18th February, Windsor was found guilty of attempted arson recklessly endangering life and received an extended sentence: six years in prison plus three years on licence.
“This was an extremely disturbing incident which threatened the lives of a family with two young children inside,” said investigating officer DC Rose Horan.
“CCTV showed Windsor’s cigarette lighter did ignite, making it fortunate that the petrol did not catch fire. If it had, the outcome could have been tragic.”
“His Honour Judge Trimmer recognised Windsor as a dangerous offender and gave an extended sentence.”
“Thanks to the victims, witnesses, and everyone who helped bring this dangerous individual to justice.”
