Four Charged in Preston Stabbing Murder of Lee Dawson

Stuart Brown, 36, and Kerry-Ann Metcalfe, 38, both from Dawson Walk, Preston, have been charged in connection with the stabbing death of 42-year-old Lee Dawson. Brown faces murder charges, while Metcalfe is charged with assisting an offender. They are due to appear at Preston Magistrates’ Court tomorrow morning.

Another Man Held Over Murder, Third Bail Release

Detectives arrested a 33-year-old Preston man on suspicion of murder on Wednesday evening. He remains in police custody. Meanwhile, a 23-year-old man, arrested on Tuesday for assisting an offender, has been released on bail as the investigation continues.

Lee Dawson Fatally Stabbed in Pre-Dawn Attack

Emergency services were called at around 3 a.m. on Friday, June 17 after Lee Dawson was found with stab wounds on Jutland Street. Originally from Preston but living in Sunderland, Mr Dawson was rushed to Royal Preston Hospital but tragically died.

The Home Office post-mortem confirmed the cause of death as stab wounds, triggering a major murder investigation.

Two More Men Charged; Appeals for Witnesses Continue

Earlier this week, Andrew Wilcock, 29, of Lincoln Walk, Preston, and Benjamin Bibby, 20, of Dawson Walk, Preston, were charged with murder and possession of a bladed weapon. They appeared in Preston Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday and will face Preston Crown Court on Thursday.

Five other men, aged 18 to 31, arrested over the weekend on suspicion of murder have been bailed pending further inquiries.

“While we have charged four people in connection with Mr Dawson’s death, the investigation is ongoing,” said Detective Chief Inspector Mark Haworth-Oates of Lancashire Police. “We continue to appeal to anyone with information.”
