Man Charged with Rape and Assault in Chatham
Kent Police acted swiftly after a woman reported being raped inside a New Road property on the evening of 27 March 2021. The attack was allegedly carried out by a man she knew.
Victim Escapes After Brutal Assault
The woman told officers that the suspect not only raped her but also assaulted her before she managed to flee the scene.
Police Charge and Court Appearance
- 52-year-old Thomas Mulroy, from New Road, Chatham, has been charged with rape, criminal damage, and actual bodily harm.
- He appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court on 29 March.
- Mulroy was remanded in custody and is due back at Maidstone Crown Court on a future date.
