Tragedy on Princess Avenue: Woman Dies in House Fire

A 57-year-old woman has died following a tragic fire on Princess Avenue at 5.30pm last Thursday, January 19.

Neighbours Sound Alarm, Emergency Services Rush In

Neighbours were alerted by the blaring fire alarm and swiftly called 999. Firefighters and police arrived promptly but sadly pronounced the woman dead at the scene.

Investigation Underway as Police and Fire Teams Stay Overnight

Chief Inspector Paul Hennessy of Nottinghamshire Police described the incident as “incredibly tragic.” He confirmed officers would remain at the scene overnight, working closely with fire crews to determine the fire’s cause.

“This is an incredibly tragic incident. Officers will remain on scene overnight to conduct a thorough investigation alongside our fire colleagues,” said Hennessy.

Group Manager Chris Emmott, from Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service, offered heartfelt condolences:

“On behalf of Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service, I would like to express my condolences to the woman’s family and friends at this difficult time. We appreciate the local community’s patience and understanding as we investigate the cause of this fire.”
