High-speed foot chase ends with suspect in hiding
Officers on routine patrol in Basford spotted a suspicious vehicle on Stockhill Lane last Friday afternoon. As soon as the car was stopped, one man bolted.
Police gave chase, deploying a dog unit and a drone to hunt the suspect. He was eventually found hiding in dense undergrowth near nottingham/" title="Nottingham" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Nottingham College and promptly arrested.
Cash stash and baseball bat found in car
Beside the fugitive’s capture, officers uncovered a large amount of cash hidden inside the vehicle — along with a wooden baseball bat, raising serious questions.
Two men held over theft, money laundering and weapons charges
- Two men, aged 30 and 35, arrested on suspicion of motor vehicle theft, money laundering, and possession of an offensive weapon.
- The younger man faces an additional money laundering charge.
- Both men were held overnight then released on bail.
Police urge public for information
“Our officers are always on alert for stolen cars and other vehicles that may be used for criminal purposes,” said PC Jaspal Nijjar of Nottinghamshire Police. “On this occasion, they got more than they anticipated by also recovering a very large amount of cash.”
