Paedophile Stephen Lewis Jailed for Historic Sex Attacks on Girl Under 14
Stephen Lewis, 59, from Woodchurch Road, Prenton, has been locked up for four years at Liverpool Crown Court. He was found guilty of five counts of indecent assault and two counts of gross indecency involving a girl under 14. The sickening offences date back to the 1970s, when Lewis himself was just 15.
Victims Hauntingly Brave After Decades of Silence
Detective Constable Alex Fowler of Merseyside Police’s Unity Team praised the victims’ courage. He said: “Lewis’ actions have haunted his victims for decades. I want to commend their bravery for seeing this prosecution through and facing him once again in court.”
“I hope this sentence brings them some comfort and closure so they can finally move on from their ordeal.”
Merseyside Police Crack Down on Historic Sex Crimes
DC Fowler stressed that time is no barrier to justice. “We take all reports of sexual offences seriously, whether recent or historic,” he said. “Our specially trained Unity Team works tirelessly to investigate and support victims.”
“If you’ve been abused, we are here to listen, support and fight for your justice. No one should suffer in silence.”
