A suspected shoplifter was caught red-handed following an armed robbery at a post office in Hextable, near Swanley. The daring raid, involving a hammer, took place just before 8.20am on Sunday 21 January 2024.

Kent Police were called to the Home Hill Road premises after a 999 call reported a robbery. The masked suspect allegedly stormed the store demanding staff hand over goods, making off with cigarettes and scratch cards.

Woman in her 30s arrested and bailed

Officers quickly arrived at the scene and arrested a woman in her thirties from Swanley. She faces charges including robbery, common assault, and criminal damage. The suspect has been released on bail until 19 April, pending further investigations.
