A brutal rapist who viciously attacked a woman, stole her bank card, and then shamelessly tried to splash out on a JD Sports tracksuit has been sentenced to 14 years behind bars.

Petrol Station Meet-Up Ends in Shocking Assault

Kieran Naylor, 40, met his victim at a petrol station in Bolton, Greater Manchester, in the early hours of December 9, 2024. He lured her to his home, where he launched a savage attack.

The court heard how Naylor kicked and stamped on the woman, breaking her femur and wrist. Prosecutor Stephen Swift revealed,

“As a consequence of the assault, she was unable to stand, and she was in significant pain. She did ask the defendant to call an ambulance, and he laughed.”

Desperate to escape, the victim dragged herself to the front door, but Naylor pulled her back inside and raped her a second time. Her injuries left her unconscious.

Heartless Theft and Failed JD Sports Splurge

After the horrific attack, Naylor stole the victim’s bank card. He used it to buy cigarettes and alcohol, and even attempted to snag a tracksuit from JD Sports – but was foiled in his attempt. The victim managed to call for help, and a passerby alerted emergency services.

Naylor was arrested on the spot. Tragically, the victim died earlier this year from natural causes and never saw justice for the brutal crime.

Family Reveal Lifelong Trauma

In a powerful court statement, the victim’s daughter spoke of the devastating impact on her mother’s life:

  • “Her confidence and sense of safety completely changed.”
  • “She became fearful of going out alone and trusting people was suddenly difficult.”
  • “She struggled to walk properly, and her mental health suffered greatly.”
  • “Before the attack, she was loving and bubbly. Seeing her lose that spark was devastating.”

The victim’s other daughter added, “It was heartbreaking to watch her trust decline, and we are seeking closure while honouring her story.”

Notorious Criminal Finally Faces Justice

Naylor’s criminal record is terrifying – 57 previous convictions for 100 offences including theft and violence. Despite claims of a “traumatic childhood” and struggles with drugs and booze, Judge Recorder Sophie Cartwright handed down a tough sentence.

Naylor received 14 years in prison plus two years on an extended licence. He was placed on the Sex Offenders Register for life and slapped with an indefinite restraining order banning any contact with the victim’s daughters.

“She completely lost her sense of confidence, independence, and trust in people,” the judge said. “Her life will never be the same.”

Justice is served, but the scars remain deep for this victim and her family.
