Nottingham Man Jailed for Savage Hotel Rape Attack
Dylan Davis, 24, from Strelley Road, Nottingham, has been locked up for eight years. He brutally raped and assaulted a teenage girl in a city centre hotel room on 16 August 2020.
Horrific Violence During Attack
Davis smashed a beer bottle over the victim’s head and flushed her mobile phone down the toilet. He bit and punched her, threatening to kill her if she tried to escape before carrying out the rape. The following day, hotel cleaning staff found the room in chaos, with broken glass scattered across the floor.
Justice Served After Brave Victim Speaks Out
Despite Davis claiming the sex was consensual, a jury convicted him of two counts of rape and one count of assault causing actual bodily harm. The victim reported the horrific ordeal after returning home and received specialist support from Nottinghamshire Police.
Detective Inspector Dan Holloway praised the victim’s bravery: “Detectives are full of admiration for this victim who has shown immense bravery and dignity. Davis subjected her to a violent and degrading ordeal before refusing to admit what he had done. Without her bravery, he would not have been brought to justice.”
DI Holloway also thanked the police officers and staff who worked tirelessly to secure the conviction. He urged other victims of rape and serious sexual assault to come forward, promising them full support from experienced officers.
