Life Sentence for Peterborough Rapist After Brutal Home Attack
Stefan Hague, 33, has been handed a life sentence with a minimum of nine years behind bars for terrorising a woman in her own home. The horrifying attack happened on June 25 in Peterborough, when Hague forced his way into the victim’s house and refused to leave.
Brutal Assault Caught on Doorbell Cam
Once inside, Hague locked the door and launched a savage assault. He punched, kicked, and stomped repeatedly on the woman’s head and body before raping her. Neighbouring doorbell cameras caught her desperate screams, leading to a frantic 999 call. But Hague fled mere moments before police arrived.
Manhunt Ends in Arrest Covered in Victim’s Blood
When officers found the victim, she was slumped, bleeding, and swollen from the attack. She was rushed straight to hospital. A manhunt was launched and police tracked Hague down in Greater Manchester. He was still covered in the victim’s blood. During the arrest, he repeatedly admitted guilt, saying, “I’m guilty, I’m guilty.”
Repeat Offender Gets Tough Justice
Hague, previously convicted of rape in Manchester, pleaded guilty to multiple charges including rape, attempted rape, grievous bodily harm with intent, and breaching the Sex Offenders Register. At Cambridge Crown Court on Thursday, he was sentenced to life in prison with a minimum term of nine years and three months before parole.
“Hague is an extremely dangerous individual, especially towards women,” said Detective Sergeant Matt Lauch, who led the investigation. “I’m pleased he’s been held accountable. The victim showed incredible strength throughout, and I hope this sentence brings her some closure.”
