Man in 70s Assaulted and Robbed in Minster Home Attack

A 70-year-old man was left with facial injuries after a frightening robbery at his Minster home on Kent Avenue around 9.30pm on 10 October 2020.

Suspect Arrested and Charged

Following an investigation by the Swale Crime Investigation Department, 28-year-old Andrew McNair from Warden Bay Road, Sheerness, was arrested on 28 October. He’s been charged with robbery and appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court the next day. McNair was remanded in custody and is due to face Maidstone Crown Court on 26 November.

Three Men Involved – Hunt for Other Suspects Continues

Police believe three men carried out the raid, making off with a sum of money. Enquiries are ongoing to identify the other suspects involved.

Two Women Arrested and Released

Earlier in October, two women aged 51 and 39 were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit burglary. Both have since been released pending further investigations.
