Petrol Station Raid Sparks Police Hunt
Just after 5am on February 8, chaos erupted at a Findon Road petrol station in Worthing. An employee raised the alarm after a robbery unfolded on site. The suspect fled the scene, triggering an immediate police investigation.
Knife and Criminal Damage Linked to Suspect
On the same day, police also received reports of unrelated criminal damage elsewhere in Worthing. Their inquiries soon led to the arrest of a 38-year-old man, suspected not only of robbery but also carrying a knife in public.
Man in Custody, Court Dates Set
Sussex Police charged Matthew Maule of Gravits Lane, Bognor, with robbery, two counts of carrying a knife, and criminal damage. He appeared at Crawley Magistrates’ Court on February 12 and was ordered to stay in custody. Maule is set for a hearing at Lewes Crown Court on March 11.
