Two Men Locked Up for Fatal Southall Car Shooting

Two men have been handed life sentences for the chilling murder of 26-year-old Khalid Farah, who was gunned down while sitting in his parked car in Southall. Malique Thompson-Hill, 22, from Maidenhead, and Jermiane Paul, 23, of West Drayton, were convicted last month and sentenced today (Thursday, 30 August) at the Old Bailey.

Life Behind Bars: 30 Years Minimum

Both Thompson-Hill and Paul received life imprisonment with a minimum of 30 years behind bars. A third man, Joshua Folorunso, 27, faces sentencing next week for trying to cover up the crime by torching the getaway car used in the murder.

Horrific Early Morning Shooting

In the early hours of 11 November 2017, Khalid was parked with a friend on Lady Margaret Road when the killers struck. CCTV footage captured a hooded gunman firing a shotgun into Khalid’s car, shooting him twice. The victim’s friend narrowly escaped unscathed. The attackers fled in a stolen VW Tiguan with fake plates.

Emergency services rushed Khalid to St Mary’s Hospital, but he tragically died at 3.32am.

Cover-Up Attempts Fail as Justice is Served

After the shooting, Thompson-Hill and Paul ditched the Tiguan 500 metres from Paul’s home and separated. They then enlisted Folorunso, who set the car ablaze to destroy evidence. Police investigations linked the trio through calls, phone data, and CCTV. Detailed detective work uncovered critical phone communications and vehicle movements, sealing their fate.

Detective Inspector Garry Moncrieff said: “This brutal murder has devastated Khalid’s family. I hope they find comfort now knowing the killers will spend decades behind bars. This was a cold-blooded, calculated attack with a firearm. These men won’t walk the streets of London again.”
