Chaos hit Royal Tunbridge Wells after a serious stabbing forced police to lock down Sherwood Road. Officers are guarding both ends of the sealed-off street, with an air ambulance landing nearby just before noon.
Stabbing Sparks Huge Police Response
Shocked locals heard the air ambulance arrive at Temple Grove Academy around 12pm. Emergency services from the South East Coast rushed in as paramedics fought to save the victim.
The quiet residential street has been transformed into a crime scene. Sherwood Road remains closed both ways between Greggs Wood Road and Conneyburrow Road, causing major delays.
Detectives Launch Murder Investigation
Kent Police confirmed detectives from the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate are leading a murder probe after a man died at the scene. The attack happened around 10:42am on Tuesday, 17 July 2018.
“A man who sustained injuries died at the scene,” a police statement said. “A knife has been recovered and a local man is in custody suspected of murder.”
