Convicted Killer Admits Stabbing Pregnant Girlfriend 19 Times

Shaine March, 47, snapped and brutally stabbed his pregnant girlfriend 19 times. The cold-blooded attack came shortly after his release from prison for a previous murder.

Victim Was Just Four Weeks Pregnant

Alana Odysseos, 32, had just found out she was four weeks pregnant with her third child. The tragic stabbing happened at her Walthamstow home in East London last July.

Neighbours overheard furious arguments hours before the attack. The couple clashed over whether to abort the unborn baby. Alana pleaded, “I don’t want to kill my baby.”

Shocking Past Revealed

March initially pleaded guilty to manslaughter by diminished responsibility but refused to admit murder—until a dramatic U-turn at the Old Bailey last Friday.

It emerged March’s violent history runs deep. At just 21, he murdered 17-year-old Andre Drummond in a McDonald’s in 2000 and was jailed for life.

He was released early in 2013 but was recalled for assaulting another partner. Released again in 2018, he had only been with Alana for around four months before killing her.

Harrowing Final Moments

  • On the night of the murder, passers-by found Alana outside her home, bleeding heavily.
  • She was clutching her wounds and begging for help, pointing at March: “Shaine stabbed me, he stabbed me.”
  • Despite emergency efforts, she died at the scene.
  • March fled but later showed up covered in blood at a nearby café, confessing: “I killed my wife and unborn child.”
  • He sent a chilling voice note to his mother: “Mum, I just killed a woman, and I’m going back to jail.”
  • March told police in a callous admission: “I did it. I killed her Alana Odysseos. I killed her hahahaha.”
  • While being booked into police custody, he shocked onlookers by demanding to be locked up, calling himself “scum.”

Next Steps: Life Behind Bars

March has been remanded in custody ahead of sentencing, which is set for October 31. Prosecutors are expected to seek a whole-life prison order, meaning he will never walk free.

The judge also lifted reporting restrictions on March’s previous murder conviction following his plea.

Family Calls for Justice

Alana’s family thanked the Metropolitan Police and prosecutors as they left court. Though shaken, they demand justice for Alana and her unborn child.
