Two Men Now Face Charges Over Her Death
Tony Curant, 33, of Penhill Road, was arrested on January 20 and initially charged with attempted murder before Leila’s death. Following her passing, his charges were upgraded. Curant appeared virtually at the Old Bailey on February 5, confirming his identity and birth date. Prosecutor Emyln Jones KC revealed Leila died from stab wounds to the head and neck. Curant’s trial is tentatively set for December 2024, with pleas expected in April.
Second Suspect Accused of Assisting an Offender
Now a second man, Richard Ray, 33, from St George’s Road in Swanley, has been charged with assisting an offender. Court documents allege he helped facilitate travel and concealed three mobile phones linked to the case on January 16. Ray is scheduled to appear at Woolwich Crown Court next week.
