Seven Men Jailed After Raid on Wrong Flat Ends in Murder
Seven criminals have been locked up after a botched raid on the wrong flat ended in the tragic death of an innocent pensioner. Mark Noke, 64, was stabbed to death in his southampton/" title="Southampton" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Southampton home during a terrifying early morning attack on February 25, 2023.
Innocent Victim Murdered in Mistaken Raid
The gang, masked and armed with a gun, smashed into Mr Noke’s flat on Warburton Road. They were aiming for another property — flat 157 — but instead forced their way into flat 147. Instead of seizing £30,000 and cannabis, as planned from social media tips, they killed an innocent man.
Mr Noke bravely called emergency services after being stabbed in the chest but sadly did not survive the attack.
Sentences Handed Out: Life and Years Behind Bars
- Kieran Thomas Claffey, Leighton James Tabone, and Justin Lee Roach were convicted of murder and conspiracy to commit robbery. All received life sentences with minimum terms of 27 to 29 years.
- Bradley James O’Dell and Aaron Paul Dean Morgan were found guilty of manslaughter and conspiracy to rob. They were sentenced to 15 years each.
- Harley Wilson and Daniel Alexander Bull pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit robbery, receiving seven-and-a-half and eight-year prison terms respectively.
Family Mourns ‘Purest and Noblest Man’
“He was the most unselfish, noblest, purest person anyone could meet,” said Lisa Noke, Mark’s sister. His family described him as loving and generous, a pillar of support who leaves a huge void.
Wayne Noke, Mark’s son, spoke emotionally about the devastating loss.
Sentencing Judge Jeremy Baker highlighted the profound impact of Mr Noke’s death on his family and condemned the needless cruelty of the crime.
