Sex Fiend Nabbed for Assaulting Teen at Stourbridge Graveyard
A vile sex offender has been slapped with a 35-month jail term after sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl in a Stourbridge graveyard. The court heard how 48-year-old Robert Osbourne lured the girl away from a group of children before committing the sick attack.
Osbourne’s Twisted Trap
Osbourne, already a registered sex offender, approached a group of kids and asked to join them on a bench. Pretending to be friendly, he engaged them in chat. Then he convinced the girl to show him a water tap in the graveyard — away from her friends. That’s when he sexually assaulted her, on October 22, 2021.
Brave Teen Speaks Out
The courageous girl reported the attack within days. Police soon spotted Osbourne in the Stourbridge area. CCTV footage and help from his sex offender manager confirmed his identity. Osbourne later pleaded guilty to sexual assault and breaching a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) at Wolverhampton Court on November 10.
Justice Served with Tough New Restrictions
Not only did Osbourne get 35 months in prison, but he was also slapped with a new SHPO, packed with strict conditions designed to keep the public safe.
Detective Praises Victim’s Courage
“Her bravery is a beacon for others who may have suffered sexual abuse,” said DC Adrian Jackson from the Sandwell and Dudley Child Abuse Investigation Team. “Victims will be listened to, believed, and supported every step of the way.”
He also thanked the girl’s family for their vital support throughout the case.
