Shoplifter Nabbed With £487 Haul at Bexleyheath Co-op

Romana Anghel Persida, 42, was caught red-handed trying to nick nearly £500 worth of goods from the Co-op on Pickford Lane, right next to Bexleyheath station, on January 9. Staff spotted her clutching the pricey loot and she was quickly arrested on the spot.

Special Skirt Used in Daring Theft

Persida had a sneaky trick up her sleeve – a custom-made shoplifting skirt designed to smuggle out stolen goods unnoticed. Thanks to this crafty garment, she faced charges not only for theft but also for “going equipped for theft.”

Guilty Plea Nets Suspended Jail Sentence

From Beacon Road in Chatham, Persida pleaded guilty at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on March 9. Judges handed her a six-week jail sentence – but it’s suspended for one year, offering her a last chance to keep clear of trouble.

One-Year Ban From Bexleyheath Co-op

As if that wasn’t enough, Persida is slapped with a year-long ban from the Pickford Lane Co-op. A stark warning to any would-be thieves thinking of pulling a fast one in Bexleyheath!
