Armed Police Nab Firearm Gang in Lewisham Sting
A high-stakes police operation in Lewisham ended with armed officers seizing a loaded revolver from a blue Toyota Prius on July 4, 2019. The dramatic bust unfolded on Wood Vale, SE23, where Reece White, 22, was caught red-handed with the deadly weapon.
Multiple Guilty Verdicts in Firearm Case
- Reece White (22) of Lambeth pleaded guilty to firearm possession on October 5, 2020.
- Nathaniel Corbett (26) and Michael Adebambo (27), both from Lambeth, found guilty on April 16, 2021.
- Siraatillah Ford (22) from Stockwell also convicted on the same day.
- Jordan Adams (29) and Nail Johnson (28) caught for illegal firearm transfer, also convicted on April 16.
Sting Operation Details
At around 6:20 pm, armed officers stopped the Prius. White was detained with a revolver in his bag and arrested for possession with intent to endanger life.
Surveillance tracked a Ford Focus linked to the weapon’s handover. Inside were Adebambo, Corbett, and a third man. They were caught collecting the revolver from another group.
The Ford was stopped at 6:50 pm on New Park Road, SW2. All three passengers were arrested for conspiracy to possess a firearm with intent to endanger life.
Further Arrests and Expert Testing
- Jordan Adams was arrested on July 2, 2019, for transferring the firearm.
- Nail Johnson was arrested on October 14, 2019, for the same charge.
- Siraatillah Ford was arrested on July 16, 2019, for firearm possession.
The revolver was test-fired by experts and confirmed to be fully operational, capable of firing live rounds.
Justice on the Way
All defendants face sentencing at Woolwich Crown Court on Wednesday, May 5.
One 24-year-old man arrested on July 4, 2019, was acquitted of possession with intent to endanger life on April 16.
