Court of Appeal Slaps Longer Sentences on Bradley Gledhill’s Murderers
The Court of Appeal has slammed the six men convicted of murdering Bradley Gledhill with harsher minimum terms. Their combined sentences have jumped from 81 years to a staggering 109 years.
Bradley Gledhill’s Murder Shocks Batley Community
The brutal attack unfolded back in June 2020 at Park Croft, Batley. Alongside Bradley’s tragic death, two of his friends were seriously injured. The six men were originally locked up at Leeds Crown Court in July 2021.
Sentence Uplifts Announced
- Usman Karolia (21) from Lime Tree Avenue, Batley – sentence upped from 21 to 27 years.
- Ahmed Karolia (24) from Lime Tree Avenue, Batley – increased from 16 to 21 years.
- Nabeel Naseer (19) of Gordale Close, Dewsbury – raised from 11 to 16 years.
- Raja Nawaz (19) of Longfield Road, Heckmondwike – boosted from 12 to 16 years.
- Irfan Hussain (18) from Church Walk, Batley – increased from 11 to 16 years.
- Nikash Hussain (18) of Low Road, Dewsbury – raised from 10 to 13 years.
The Homicide and Major Enquiry Team has welcomed the tougher sentences, saying justice is served for Bradley and his family.
