A quiet neighbourhood in Peterborough was rocked by a grisly family murder. Gregory Coulson, 31, has been convicted of killing his own mother in a brutal attack.

Brutal Stabbing at Lingwood Park Home

Gregory stabbed 67-year-old Carmen Coulson multiple times at their Longthorpe house. He called police at 2.44am on Sunday, 9 February last year – but evidence suggests the killing happened the night before.

Jury Rejects Son’s Intruder Story

Police found Mrs Coulson dead at the detached Lingwood Park property with severe wounds, including a fatal stab to the heart. A post-mortem confirmed the brutality of the attack.

At trial, Coulson denied the murder, claiming unknown intruders were responsible. The jury wasn’t fooled. On 10 March, they unanimously found him guilty of murder.

Sentencing Date Locked In

Gregory Coulson faces sentencing on 17 April. The court location is yet to be announced.
