Spanish Police Find Another Brit Amid Hunt for Missing Teen Jay Slater

Spanish cops searching for missing British teen Jay Slater have made an unexpected discovery — another stranded Brit. The 19-year-old apprentice bricklayer from Oswaldtwistle, Lancashire, vanished last Monday after attending a rave in Tenerife.

Jay was last traced near Rural de Teno National Park. His phone pinged a nearby cell tower early on June 17 at 8:50 am.

Scottish Hiker Found Exhausted During Jay’s Search

While combing the rugged terrain, Spanish police spotted a 51-year-old Scottish hiker in Asomada Canyon on Friday. The man, unnamed so far, was lost and exhausted in a tough-to-reach area.

“Locals saw the hiker enter an area unsuitable for travel early in the morning,” police said. “When he didn’t return for hours, they alerted agents searching for Jay Slater. Rescue teams pulled the tired and disoriented hiker out of the ravine.”

Dark Past of Missing Teen Surfaces Amid Investigation

Tensions rise as detectives dig into Jay’s background. Spanish media report he was part of a violent 2021 machete attack in Rishton, Lancashire — where victim Tom Hilton was left fighting for life.

Jay, along with seven others, assaulted Hilton using a machete, axe, and golf clubs. Hilton suffered serious injuries, including a fractured skull.

In court, Hilton called the gang a “pack of wolves,” saying he fled through woods before the brutal assault.

Calls for Respect as Social Media Rumours Swirl

Social platforms buzz with claims that Jay’s disappearance is “karma.” But Hilton himself has pleaded for dignity.

“Whoever’s writing those TikToks, give it a rest,” Hilton posted on Facebook. “This young lad’s missing, his family is heartbroken. Put yourself in their shoes. Stop the nonsense, mention my name no more. Have respect and help find this boy.”

Jay’s mother, Debbie Duncan, spoke out with raw emotion: “I’m praying he doesn’t come back in a body bag.” The family clings to hope for his safe return.
