Police officer PC Maurice Maison has been sacked without notice following a misconduct hearing on Tuesday, 20 July. The Met officer, attached to the North Area Command Unit, was found guilty of gross misconduct over discreditable conduct.
Clocked Doing 122mph in Private Car
On 25 September 2020, PC Maison was caught driving his private vehicle at a staggering 122mph on a 70mph stretch. He was stopped and later appeared at Willesden Magistrates’ Court on 3 February, where he pleaded guilty to speeding. Sentencing is set for October.
Chief Superintendent Slams ‘Reckless’ Behaviour
“PC Maison’s behaviour was completely reckless and put other road users at significant risk,” said Detective Chief Superintendent Treena Fleming, responsible for Enfield and Haringey policing. “Police officers are never above the law. There was no valid reason for PC Maison to be driving at such high speeds.”
She added: “We expect all officers to uphold our high standards and will not tolerate conduct that undermines public confidence.”
