Paedophile Smith Jailed for 14 Years in St Albans
A pervert named Smith has been locked up for 14 years at St Albans Crown Court. He will also be on the Sex Offender’s Register for the rest of his life.
Detective Praises Brave Victims and Reporters
Detective Constable Hayley Carroll from Bedfordshire Police’s Internet Child Abuse Investigation Team hailed the verdict as a victory for justice.
“We are all incredibly pleased with this outcome. It serves as an empowering reminder to all members of our community – victims and non-victims – that it is never too late to report a crime,” Carroll said.
“Our hope is that this result encourages everyone, showing how powerful reporting can be, whether offences are recent or long past.”
“Sexual assault is an abhorrent crime. Child victims often carry lasting mental and physical scars. All three victims are relieved to finally have closure and can now move on with their lives.”
Report Sexual Crimes – No Matter When They Happened
If you have been a victim of sexual assault, reporting can help bring offenders to justice and offer support. Reports can be made online at https://orlo.uk/E5Xkb, by calling 101 for non-emergencies, or 999 if it’s urgent.
Help and Support for Victims
Bedfordshire Police and partner agencies provide guidance and support through the Sexual Assault Referral Centre (SARC). Victims are supported throughout the criminal process to help them get the justice they deserve.
