Shepherds Bush Shooting: Victim Named as Alexander Kareem
Detectives have identified the man shot dead in Askew Road as 20-year-old Alexander Kareem from Shepherds Bush. He was found with gunshot wounds at 12.40am on Monday, 8 June.
Tragic Death After Late-Night Convenience Store Trip
Alexander had just visited a local convenience store and was walking home when he was shot in the chest and abdomen. Despite emergency efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
A post-mortem confirmed the cause of death, and his family have been informed and are receiving specialist support.
Burned-Out Range Rover Linked to Shooting
Police say a white Range Rover spotted near the scene before the shooting is a key lead. The vehicle was later found burned out on Ascott Avenue.
Officers are keen to hear from anyone who saw the car or knows who was driving it. They are also appealing for dashcam footage capturing the shooting or the Range Rover in the area.
Detectives Vow to Catch the Killer
Detective Chief Inspector Wayne Jolley said: “Alexander was just 20 years old when his life ended in such a tragic way. We are determined to bring those responsible for this unnecessary and terrifying violence to justice.
“We continue to appeal for witnesses to come forward. The white Range Rover and any dashcam footage are vital to our investigation.
“We send our heartfelt condolences to Alexander’s family at this difficult time.”
