Graham Crutch Caught Nearly Three Times Over Limit
A 29-year-old man from Stonesfield, Oxfordshire, has landed behind bars after a string of serious driving offences. Graham Crutch, of Longore, pleaded guilty at Oxford Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday (May 8) to driving while disqualified, riding without insurance, and drink-driving.
Police stopped Crutch on March 27 at 4.32pm as he rode his motorcycle on Laughton Hill, Stonesfield. Officers had received tips that he was riding under the influence. A breath test revealed Crutch blew 111ug/100ml – almost three times the legal alcohol limit.
17 Weeks in Jail and Five-Year Ban
Crutch was arrested on the spot and charged formally on April 9, 2019. After admitting all charges, he was sentenced to 17 weeks in prison and banned from driving for five years. The court made it clear the offences were not to be taken lightly.
Police Warn: Drink-Driving Will Not Be Tolerated
“Thames Valley Police will not tolerate drink driving, which is one of the Fatal Four on our roads,” said PC Brian Perry of the Joint Operations Unit for Roads Policing, based in Bicester.
“Crutch pleaded guilty at the earliest opportunity and given the seriousness of the offences, has been given a custodial sentence where he can reflect on his actions.”
“If you see anyone driving while over the limit, report it to Thames Valley Police – help us keep our roads safe.”
